At its core this blog is meant to challenge convention, using new information, thinking, methods, and strategies to answer the question of what it means to be successful. Settling down in the suburbs, investing in a 401k, working up the corporate ladder (the list goes on) seem to be uncontested relics of an old system, but what has replaced them? The FIRE movement, digital nomading, the Joe Rogan show, Barstool Sports all seem to touch on the subject matter, but not directly and not systemically. Today the answers (and even the key questions) are fragmented and the aim for this blog is to bring them together. This blog is intended to be an evolving journey as I try to move from relative ignorance and into either higher levels of wisdom.
In this blog, we will discuss personal finance, health, relationships, leisure, and other topics to advance readers’ lives holistically but also to acknowledge the interdependence of each of these elements. Instead of providing click bait, ad saturated, and product centric content, we want to focus on the ideas that we are putting into practice, the conversations that develop from them, the research that spawned them and the data (when possible) that we can use to develop a sense of direction. We will use opinion pieces and our own personal experience to serve as content for this blog, operating under no illusions that what is described here is “right” or right for everyone. But, we hope it is valuable at least in part to the readers that choose to follow.
